 Woodshop News - January 1997
Lean years force business savvy on custom woodturner....but the essentials stay the same for Connecticut
craftsman
There's a timelessness about it. The shavings pouring off the lathe could as easily be a picture in an
old woodcut as the living wood turner piercing wood with steel....
Other places where New England Woodturners and our products have been featured:
Martha Stewart's LIVING Magazine: November 2002: Baluster candlesticks-Give the graceful turned
woodwork of stair railings new supporting roles as candlestick holders... (photo featured a half dozen
balusters made by New England Woodturners, Inc.)
Woodshop News - December 1986: Richard Swartwout, owner of New England Woodturners,
Inc. turns a newel post. His business is one of six woodworking and crafts enterprises located in a former
factory building in New Haven, Connecticut called the Daggett Building. (note-we have since relocated to
Andover, Connecticut to expand our shop production)
